It’s just two weeks before Forest Hall plays host to the Tyneside Easter Congress, so sign up now to take part in this brand new event!
There are three sections – a FIDE rated Open, the Major (Under 160) and the Challengers (Under 120) – so there’s a tournament for you to play in, whether you’re playing your first weekend chess event or a seasoned competitor.
To make it easy to enter, we have an online form on this website:
Or you can send your entries the conventional way, courtesy of the Royal Mail, a first-class stamp and that rare item in today’s financial world – an old fashioned cheque!
You can even enter on the day and pay a late fee of £5. It’s up to you, but obviously entries beforehand help to keep the organizers’ blood pressure at relatively safe levels….
The top seeds of those players entered so far are FIDE Masters David Walker and Charlie Storey, so there’s some good opposition in the Open, as well as plenty of chances to win prizes in all three sections.
You can check out the entries so far here:
We look forward to seeing you at the Forest Hall Ex-Servicemen’s Institute for a stimulating weekend of chess – it’s your move!
