Forest Hall Chess Club is pleased to announce that over-the-board club nights have restarted on Fridays at Forest Hall Social Club, Great Lime Road, Palmersville NE12 9DQ.
New and existing members are very welcome to come and join for competitive or friendly games of chess – whatever your age, gender or playing level. We currently have a very diverse range of members, with players aged from 5 to 88 and everything in between.
We will always make sure you are given a warm welcome and a game with an opponent at or around your level. We are also happy to show you the ropes, and absolute beginners are extremely welcome to come and learn the game with help from our experienced coaches.
The club meets indoors on Fridays in the Upstairs Lounge, all year round.
Current social distancing rules mean that players and visitors should wear face coverings when moving around the Social Club, but this is not required when sitting at the chessboard.
Junior Club runs from 5:15pm to 7:15pm.
Senior Club runs from 7:15pm to 10:15pm.
Chess Club members are also required to join Forest Hall Social Club. The cost to join the Social Club is £10 a year, which includes £8 in drinks tokens – a bargain!
