Still time to enter the Easter Congress!

It’s that time – you’ve done your opening preparation, played blitz on the internet, and thought (briefly) about opening that Dvoretsky textbook on the endgame.

But still you feel Caissa’s lure, and perhaps a certain yen for hand-to-hand combat in over-the-board tournament chess. Don’t worry – the answer is at hand! You can still enter the inaugural Tyneside Easter Congress, coming up at Forest Hall Chess Club on 14-16 April.

Just follow this link to enter online: https://foresthallchess.org.uk/enter-online/

You can also download the entry form here:  http://foresthallchess.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/tyneside-easter-congress-entry-form-2017.pdf

To enter is easy: Simply pay online by PayPal or credit/debit card.

We’re happy to announce that the initial glitches with our online payment system have now all been fixed, so you’re welcome to enter this way, or by the other traditional methods (a cheque through the post, or even by cash on the day.)

Still thinking about it? We’ve got a great venue, with beer on tap and Sky sports on TV throughout the weekend – so you’ll have plenty of time between moves to keep up with Newcastle United (or other sports teams, should you support them).

The organizers (myself, Brian Towers and Paul Charlton) are raring to go with the fastest computer pairing system in the West, and we’d love to see you there.

So go on, give it a go – it’s your move!
